Draft General Public Procurement Regulations — Comment Period Extended by 30 Days

Government Notice 7590 of 10 June 2026 extends the public comment period on the Draft General Public Procurement Regulations, 2026, by a further 30 days. The draft regulations, made under section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act 28 of 2024, were originally published in Government Gazette No. 54528 on 16 April 2026. Written comments must now be submitted by 15 July 2026 to DraftGeneralProcurementRegulations@treasury.gov.za. National Treasury warns that commentators' names and submissions may be made public or included in the consultation report contemplated in section 63(6) of the Act. These regulations will operationalise the new Act, which replaces the existing public procurement regime across all spheres of government.
