General Notice 4008 of 2026 extends the closing date for public comments on the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Amendment Bill, 2026 by 30 days from 6 July 2026 (approximately 5 August 2026). The original deadline of 16 June 2026 was extended following requests from various organisations and individuals. The Department of Human Settlements has indicated it will publish a schedule of stakeholder consultations in public venues. Comments may be submitted by email to PIE.AmendmentBill@dhs.gov.za, by hand delivery at 240 Justice Mohammed, Sunnyside Pretoria, or by post to Private Bag x 644, Pretoria.
